Best solutions to integrate third-party REST API in MERN stack app?

I am working on a MERN stack Application that Needs to integrate with an existent REST API and handle data sync, authentication, and error reliably.

At this stage, does it make sense to involve experienced MERN stack developers for API architecture and scaling?
