Is Outsourcing Estimation Really Worth It?

Lately, I’ve noticed many contractors and builders talking about outsourcing their estimating work to save time and reduce overhead. Some say it’s a game-changer, while others worry about accuracy and communication gaps.

Personally, I think choosing a top outsource estimating service can make a big difference, especially for small to mid-sized firms handling multiple bids at once. When done right, it helps focus more on project execution instead of spending hours on takeoffs and pricing.

That said, results clearly depend on who you work with. What has your experience been has outsourcing helped your workflow, or do you prefer keeping estimation in-house?

Would love to hear both positive and negative opinions from the community.
